Green Tree Timber achieved FSC® & PEFC Chain of Custody accreditation in 2008, through the Timber Research and Development Association (TRADA).
Our parent company, Finewood Marketing (U.K.) Ltd is a member of the Timber Trade Federation (TTF) and Forests Forever.
The policy of Green Tree Timber is to source product through their parent company from manufacturers only using raw material from well managed production forest in accordance with the principals of sustained yield management, and to avoid trading in illegally harvested wood, wood harvested in violation of traditional and civil rights, wood harvested in forests where high conservation values are threatened by management activities, wood harvested in forests being converted to plantations or non-forest use and wood from forests including genetically modified trees.
Green Tree Timber supports FSC®, PEFC, and other nationally acknowledged certification programmes and recognizes them as truly independent forest certification systems.
The company is committed to encourage all its trading partners to make similar commitments to a sustainable purchasing and environmental policy, and has secured FSC®, PEFC & MTCS Chain of Custody Certifications as a demonstration of its commitment in this regard.
